RIDE DETAILS
Come join us for the San Francisco Bakery Tour where we tour some of the most scenic areas of San Francisco while sampling some of the City's finest bakeries. We will stage from the Ferry Building in San Francisco at 9:30 a.m. and ride out to Fisherman’s Wharf, the Presidio, the Legion of Honor, the Great Highway, Lake Merced, and Twin Peaks. This is definitely a social ride, but not without epic and challenging climbs and vistas. It will be important to stay with the group because there are some turns that aren’t very obvious making it easy to get lost and or off course. We will stop at three/four different bakeries to sample some of the finest bakeries San Francisco has to offer.
Bring your cameras (cell phones will do) and a bag to carry home some epicurean delights (I normally bring home a loaf of Tartine's Country Sourdough...it's the best and weighty).
One final note: if you're not interested in the full 43 miles, you can catch BART at the bottom of O'Shaughnessy at Glen Park for a 33 mile ride that also avoids some inner city riding (but omits the trail along the bay which is beautiful).
How to get there:
Suggest taking BART. If you live near San Ramon, Dublin, or Danville, you might consider starting from the Dublin/Pleasanton Station to avoid having to transfer. You can take the 8:12 a.m. train to arrive in S.F. at 8:57 a.m.. This should give you plenty of time to use the restrooms at the Ferry Building and be ready to roll by 9:30. Remember to bring your clipper card or download the BART app to get your tickets.
