Name of Ride: Del Puerto Canyon - The Easy Way
Starting/ending location: 15040 Carmen Way, Patterson CA
Estimated mileage: 60 or 50 or 44 miles. Your choice.
Elevation gain: 3713 ft or less if shorter options taken.
Ride rating: 2-3L/M – Moderate with the expectation of having a final average pace of 12 to 14 mph. Your return should be a bit faster than the outbound leg. Drop ride with regroups.
Full disclosure: The climb from mile marks 19.5 and 21 is steep. Averages near 9% but it is a stair step climb with 12 to 15% pitches. The gear you use for the Mt Diablo summit will be your friend.
Regroups at mile 16.5 at Frank Raines Regional Park and at mile 25 at "The Junction".
There may be no water or food available on the route. The cafe at the junction may or may not be open! Carry 2 water bottles and all of the calories you need for a 60 mile ride.
Turning around at the county line will give you a 44 mile ride and about 1000 less feet of climbing. Turning around at the Junction will give you a 50 mile ride and about 500 less feet of climbing.
