VS Racing Team: Livermore Inter-team Training Ride

Starting Location and Time:
- Livermore Trek (2752 First St, Livermore, CA 94550)
- Thursdays at 5:30 PM

- Arrive early!! Safety chat and Rollout is prompt at 5:30pm.
Ride Rating: 2S
- (2) Mostly easy grades with a few rolling hills; a challenge for beginners
- (S) Steady, strenuous, rapid pace
- All skill levels are welcome to start with the group – not limited to VS Bicycle Club or Racing Team.
- Minimal regroupings, and we don’t wait long-- so be prepared to navigate the course by yourself, handle your own flats, mechanicals, etc. **BE SELF-SUPPORTED in case of flats or mechanicals**

Online registration is required-- this is our emergency contact info + ride waiver. You must do this for every ride!
- If you forget to register online ahead of time, the ride host will have a QR code to scan so you can get to the sign in page online.
- The ride is open to all
- You do not have to be a VS Bicycle Club or Racing Team member
- If you enjoy the ride, please consider joining the Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Club- it helps offset the cost of ride insurance and offers additional rider-benefits.
Route/Ride Notes:
- Fast-paced group ride around Livermore
- Held on Thursday evenings generally between March and November (during daylight saving time)
Before the ride:
- Brief safety chat to cover any specific safety reminders or traffic issues
- Introduction of new riders
Main regroup: Corner of Raymond and Ames
- Do not pull straight into the corner gravel area
- Safely turn right onto Ames and make a U-turn at Marigold when you are fully aware of traffic around you
From the regroup point to the end of the ride:
- The group generally stays together at a slightly more friendly pace
- Fast push/sprint up Greenville
- Some riders return to Livermore Trek, while most will start dropping off mid-route to navigate home.
If you get dropped along the route:
Pacelines:
- Pacelines often form during the rides
- If you are new to pacelines, here is a helpful video: How to ride a pace line
- This will help you understand how to rotate in crosswinds and in an echelon
- Feel free to ask any questions before the ride starts
