We will start from Livermore Trek. Trek will open the store early for us. From there we will ride to Collier Canyon and then to Morgan Territory Road. The climb to Morgan Territory East Bay Regional Park is very steep and some of it is a single lane road. The climb and descent is for experienced riders. There is water and a restroom at the park.

History Nugget

The Morgan Territory region was long occupied by the Miwok Native American Indians. During California’s Spanish and Mexican periods the Native Americans were displaced as the colonial governments made large land grants. In the mid-1800s Americans moving westward began to buy the property for ranching. Today the area is named after Jeremiah Morgan who developed a 2000 acre ranch in 1857.

East Bay Regional Parks acquired ~930 acres in 1975 to establish a preserve. The park is now over 5000 acres.
