Start location: El Cerrito Plaza BART Station
Start time: 9 am
Starting from the El Cerrito Plaza BART station, we'll enjoy the Bay Trail heading to the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge. After Fairfax there will be two climbs - the first is a 3 mile climb out of Fairfax and the second is a 6 mile climb from Alpine Lake to the parking lot before Mt. Tam Peak. 6 additional miles to Mt. Tam Peak where the visitor center is located is optional. The rewards for the climbs are peaceful mountain sceneries; views of Alpine Lake and the Pacific Ocean and Stinson Beach if the weather cooperates; riding through redwood forests; and better yet a 10 mile steep descent into Mill Valley. The ride ends at the Embarcadero BART station.
