Tuscon AZ Fixed Base Bike & Hike

Craving dry, warm weather biking?  Join us on a trip to Tucson, Arizona in late February. Wendy Cosin and Karen Kaiser will be there February 25 - March 6 for a fixed based riding adventure.  We plan to drive with our bikes (approximately 13 hours), but you could fly and rent a bike and a car.   Let us know if you are interested in joining us and we will put together a group e-mail list to keep everyone update.

Here are the specifics of our trip:

DATES:  Arriving Tucson on February 25.  Checking out of hotel on March 6.  You can join us for as much or as little as you want. 

HOTEL:  We have a reservation for a room with two beds at La Quinta at 6404 East Broadway in Tucson.  The cost of our room is $102 week nights and $116.10 Fri. & Sat. nights (plus taxes of about $15 a night) This is a weekly rate.  Amenities includes refrigerator, microwave, WIFI, TV, breakfast, outdoor pool and hot tub, etc.  Central location in Tucson so there will be restaurant choices.  There are many other hotel choices if you want to look around the area and we can still coordinate rides.   Hotel phone number is 520-747-1414.  Link to their website:

RIDING OPTIONS:  There are a lot of good rides in Tucson.  You can see some of them from the links below. There are flat rides as well as climbs. We will choose rides between 40 and 60 miles. Many rides are out and back, so can be shortened.  There is a loop trail around Tucson, so we may be able to ride from the hotel, but will also need cars for some rides. When it gets closer, we'll choose some rides and publish route sheets from Ride with GPS.  There are also hiking options, desert museum, etc.
