10am - Mt. Hamilton climb

Mt. Hamilton Rd. and Alum Rock Ave. intersection

3-L/M 38 miles (65 km) 10:00 a.m. Ride to the summit of Mt. Hamilton and visit the Lick Observatory. A long climb but not too steep. Meet at the corner of Alum Rock Ave. and Mt. Hamilton Rd. Take I-680 to the Alum Rock exit and go east; park by the side of the road at the Mt. Hamilton Rd. intersection. This is a drop ride but assume multiple groups will be formed during the ride. Bring plenty of fluids and nourishment.

Route: Up the hill and back: take Mt. Hamilton Rd. (Hwy. 130) all the way to the top; turn right to go up to the observatory visitor center for regroup/RR/snacks; U-turn and return the same way.
