During some of recent rides concern has been expressed about the difficulty of our upcoming ride and while I share your concerns I have done enough rides around the area to know that if a rider gets over their head in a ride like the one we have planned there are bail points each day where any rider can make a decision to head for home if they find the ride too difficult.

After the first days' ride to Petaluma a rider can ride from Petaluma to Larkspur and get on the ferry back to SF and take Bart back home.

If someone wants to get off the ride in Half Moon Bay they can catch a local bus to Daily City and take Bart home or they can ride to San Mateo and catch public transportation home.

The third day of the ride we end in San Jose and an option out is to take Amtrak-Cal Train to the Oakland Coliseum and transfer to Bart and take Bart home.

So if you have concerns about the difficulty of the ride or if you haven't done a touring ride make RATBAT be a trial ride; I think you will find that it is one of the most fun rides you have ever done. I always come back from my touring rides having had the best ride of my life and looking forward to more touring rides to come.
